Sirkkaliisa Jetsonen

Sirkkaliisa Jetsonen is an architect (M. Sc. (Arch.) and educator who has worked in the Finnish Heritage Agency in Helsinki, Finland. Her long time position there as a Senior Architect included expert tasks in conservation and restoration of nationally significant built heritage.  

She has lectured on architectural history at the Aalto University from the 1990s until 2020. She also has taught for several American schools of architecture during their long-term study abroad programs in Finland. Her special field is heritage of Modernism, and she has written numerous articles in professional journals and scientific publications on a range of subjects of 20^th century Finnish architecture. 

Sirkkaliisa Jetsonen, together with her husband Jari Jetsonen are authors of several books on Finnish architecture, the most recent of which are: Eliel and Eero Saarinen Homes (2025) and Eliel Saarinen Public Buildings (2024), and the trilogy of Alvar Aalto architecture Alvar Aalto Homes(2018), Alvar Aalto Libraries (2018) and Alvar Aalto Churches (2020) (Rakennustieto, Helsinki).

Jari and Sirkkaliisa are at the moment working on the third part of the Saarinen book trilogy, Eero Saarinen Public Buildings.  

Sirkkaliisa Jetsonen is a member of the Finnish Association of Architects. She is also a member of the Board of DOCOMOMO Suomi Finland.
