Alessandro L.B. Vassella

Alessandro L. B. Vassella, Swiss architect, graduated from ETH Zurich.
Practical training in the Vastu Shilpa studio of Balkrishna V. Doshi, Ahmedabad, India, 1970. 1972–1978 architect in Zurich; teaching assistant for guest Prof. Aldo van Eyck, among others; and co-author of Louis I. Kahn, Complete Work 1935–74 at the gta Institute, ETH Zurich.

From 1978 in Berlin, project supervisor for the reconstruction of Erich Mendelsohn’s cinema “Universum” with conversion into the theater “Schaubühne.” 1981–2008 among the forerunners in ecological building and town planning in different teams and working groups, and own studio as architect and consultant, specializing in school building and refurbishment of listed buildings.

Since 2009, practicing again in Zurich. Editor of Louis I. Kahn – Silence and Light.
